Burning Bush began by shopping, Neurtered sure has her number...she purchased a hat this week then committed a party foul by not crushing her can...could that new hat be too tight? Mamma and Poppa showed up, hell didn't freeze over but lightening did strike. It appeared that Sunken and Waay had wrecked a trail, but it could be a hoax...the trail began with rolling shiggy but it wasn't too long before you couldn't see anything. The rains, yes plural, began. The trail was hopelessly lost. I ran with a group that went under and over fences. Big, really tall fences. Another group never saw a fence, yet another ran on top of a fence that was down. The winds were fierce but didn't compare to the sting of the hail. The thunder and lightening gave the evening a really special effect. Hole twisted his ankle on his fourth trip out to rescue lost hashers and Sunken gathered up the rest. We understand that it Bung Holey O's fault, he earlier that day performed the rain dance.
Through rain, nor snow nor sleet or night shall keep the mail from beginning delivered, what the hell we were hashers not postal workers...it was over. What do they feed those people in Texas? Dick Rejecter couldn't believe that we were ending it. I think the sight of an old lady on a bicycle with a little dog named Toto flying through the air convinced her that it was in our best interest to skip the Beer Check and go straight to the on after.
After much deliberation it was decided that the Wing House would be our on after destination and circle time. It has an outside bar that wouldn't be air-conditioned. We were cold and we were wet. It took a while for everyone to get there, many stopped to shop. Not everyone was prepared with a hash bag. People began showing up and food was ordered. I'm Sooo got confused when "hot and naked" was called, he began to take his clothes off not realizing it was a wing order. The circle was an oval but was disturbed very frequently by food being delivered and people eating. Just Swallows is now known as "I have a mouthful of meat" making the manager so happy that he gave us 25% off all our tabs. Richard Pierce once again corrupted the wait staff...the cute little blond ended up doing a water down down...we learned that Burning Bush was married in June 23 years ago (congrats to BB and her lovely husband George!!!) And that Dill Dough is homeless. I, Nunya, received my 25 Hash Whistle...after I drank and danced to a full mug of beer. We welcomed Dick Rejecter to the group by singing her the Texas song. It was a lively circle and the civilians seemed to enjoy the show. One table from the audience said there were from National Geographic doing a documentary on bugs. Originally from Australia, Wales and England, they were world travelers and intrigued by our behavior...or so they said. Could have been fake accents with an original line or maybe they were producers and cameramen and they'll be back to do a story on us...you never know.
